William Loesche is currently assigned to the position of Fire Marshal. He has been affiliated with the fire service for more than forty years holding ranks from firefighter to Fire Chief. He was the Assistant State Fire Marshal in Arizona, District Fire Marshal for the Sedona Fire District and a certified Fire Marshal in the State of Connecticut.
Certifications include: International Code Council Fire Inspector II, National Fire Protection Association Fire Inspector II; National Association of Fire Investigators Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator; National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer 1990; Center for Public Safety Excellence Fire Marshal Designation 2012; and the National Wildfire Coordination Group Wildland Fire Investigator INVF designation. He has attended the University of New Haven completing certifications in Arson Investigation, Fire Prevention and Occupational Safety and Health along with a Bachelor Degree in Fire Science in 1984. He attended Arizona State University obtaining a Master’s Degree in Science and Technology mastering in Fire Science in 2009. He completed numerous courses in Fire Prevention at the National Fire Academy and in Arson Investigation at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He is certified as Fire Instructor II and instructed fire science programs at Yavapai College, Coconino College and fire investigation at the Arizona Wildfire Academy. He established and administered the Yavapai Fire and Arson Investigation Task Force for years and currently participates in the Fire Investigation Task Force in both Pima and Pinal Counties.
