Deputy Fire Marshal – Steve Horbarenko


Steve Horbarenko holds the position of Deputy Fire Marshal for the Golder Ranch Fire District. He has been with the district since 1996 and in public safety for 41 years. Steve performs fire inspections of commercial occupancies of which a majority are considered high-hazard occupancies including institutional facilities such as hospitals, adult care facilities, large public assemblies, high rises, chemical processing plants and explosive processing facilities. Steve earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration at New York Institute of Technology. Steve is an Arizona State certified fire inspector and is certified by the International Code Council for Fire Inspector I & II. Steve also holds certifications for Public Educator I and II through the State of Arizona. Steve attended the Arizona Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators Arson I-IV and became a certified Fire Investigation Technician through IAAI. He has taught local and statewide agencies fire investigation classes through the organization. Steve is a member of the Southern Arizona Arson Task Force and Pinal County Arson Task Force. He is certified in Post Blast Analysis. Steve completed the 160 hour Hazardous Materials Technician Course. He holds numerous certificates in fire investigation, fire behavior, explosives, NIMS, fire sprinkler and alarm systems, and hazardous materials
